Today I had planned to set the release date of the spring collection pictures/shop update and show more sneak peeks(above)......

But, my 4-thread serger's lower looper broke(into pieces). I don't even know how it managed to, but it did. Once it broke I tried to replace the looper with one I had on an old machine...And when that didn't work I tried tweaking the upper looper to work with the new lower looper(which was not terribly bright on my part)....so now it's REALLY screwed up....I'm taking it in tomorrow to be repaired, but that will take a couple weeks because the part has to be specially ordered. This is going to seriously impact when my collection is ready, because without my serger I can't finish everything. I was originally planning on having everything ready by mid-April and now it's going to be nearer the end of April to early May. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but it just seems like everything is going wrong right now........

And take your time with your collection! We're all waiting patiently, savoring every little bit you give us!

  2. Gosh... that must be really frustrating. I feel for you. It is really awful to set aside the time to do something important and then annoying things get in the way.

I really love the photo of the top... I think I might be inspired to find some spring fabric for myself...

  3. you're not being a debbie downer! I'm right there with you, with things going pretty crappily right now...I just got in another minor car accident ystdy (that will be deemed my fault, since I was turning into her lane), and the other one isn't even processed yet...my mom is about ready to MURDER me. add to that my parking tickets, HUGE amount of taxes I owe, and, man, things are not looking good! but then I think about the good things in life--like my friends, who for once are not pissing me off--and I just forget about the rest! momentarily, anyway...here's one big internet HUG from me to you, Hannah! things will turn around!

and I totally agree with Lindsay...that top blouse is what unicorns and cotton candy are made off...NEED IT in my life.

  5. Bummer. I'm sorry to hear things are not working out! I bet once you have your machine fixed you'll be sewing away in no time. That peter pan collar top is SO CUTE btw.

  6. Oh man , I have so so been there with a serger and all other pieces of sewing equipment, and it plain old sucks. (Though I've never tried to take apart my serger to fix it, kudos to you for trying that). And then there's the delay of getting it fixed, which sucks even worse. I find the best thing to do in these situations to relax and not think about it, and try doing french seams when you can so you can keep sewing. I LOVE what you're working on and will happyily and patiently await the next sneak peaks :) HUGS!

  7. Thanks Kate:) I certainly hope so.

Aw. Thank you Julia. I'm trying to relax. I love french seams and actually alot of the garments do use them(yay). But the serger was still a log in the road(blah).

I think it was the trying to fix it part that really shot me in the foot because I threw off the loopers alignment which is going to cost me an arm and a leg to fix....ahhh. I had no idea how to align those darn things, and it's not like there is a guide. I'm no mechanic, but I swear if they are 1mm off all hell breaks loose. Moral of this story is:

"Once it breaks don't touch it".
